My block originally has new citizens and immigrants, but now more has arrived. They are really nice. They are really nice. When they are free, they will cook and bring it to share with all of us.
I liked their dishes so I asked them for the recipe. So today, I have come to the market to buy the ingredients and learn cooking from them. You know how to cook? You are one of those who do not cook. That is why I told you that I am learning.
I am still learning as I age. I will give all of you a treat after I have mastered how to cook. The thing is whether you all give face. Of course we will.
The chance is here.When? At my block, the 9th floor where I am staying, we are having a gathering. Everyone there is harmonious. Everyone is involved, contributing and sharing. How do you contact them? Thats easy! Everyone has IPhone and Whatsapp.
Wow, she even knows Whatsapp! You are so smart. My husband asked me what Whatsapp is, I responded by telling him Whats up. Let me show you, I have ten over calls but I have no time to answer. In the past she does not even know what Facebook is.
I taught her then but now she knows more then I do. My neighbours at every level of my block have Whatsapp. So when there is a celebration or events, I will contact them with just a click on my phone and all of them will be informed. Those who are interested will simply respond through Whatsapp.
We take turns to organise such gathering. For example, this time round the 9th floor is organising and the next time it will be at the 10th floor. She is so fortunate. The neighbours staying around her are really nice.She always has good neighbours.
Let me tell you, it is because I am someone who is easy going. Yes, you are right. We reciprocate favours. Yes and we should not discriminate people by where they are from.
Whether you are a Singaporean or a foreigner, when we all live together in Singapore we are a family. We should all be helpful to each other. Now, I need to do my groceries shopping. After that, I will be going for my event Oh ya , remember what you have promised me.
You ladies remember to invite Ong Sir along to drop by 9th floor for our gathering. Okay I have to go. Wait a second. Didnt you mention something about your employee the other day? Oh, is it something about labour issue? You did not manage to hire someone? It is not that I couldnt hire one.
In fact, a lot of the businesses are experiencing the same. This is known as labour issue. Singaporeans always feel that they want to do more and think that foreigners are here to compete. However, when the job is too tough they (Singaporeans) will feel that it is not worth working.
They demand a great deal such as an air-conditioned working place, short working hours and high wages. And even want their bosses to submit to them. If not, they will complain and complain. This is where we as employers of small business feel the strain because it is difficult to hire someone.
Hence, many small businesses closed down. Those that have long operating hours are decreasing it so as to accommodate Singaporeans. But if we were to hire locals, their wages will need to be high. That is where problems come in.
When employees wages are high, prices must to be increased. Just like how the plate of rice on the table is more expensive these days. You have to tell such issues to the MP. So MP, you know what to do.
