J. Krishnamurti - Brockwood Park 1978 - School Discussion 2 - Can thought bring about a life...

Krishnamurti: One of students,
the other morning, when we gathered here,
asked a question, which was, what is the difference
between relationship and sex? In talking it over together, we came to a certain point, which was, why do human beings
throughout the world give predominance or importance
or a priority to certain activity? Why sex has become
such an important thing, overriding all others, why money, why the sense of
committed direction, why human beings give all their
attention, their life to an idea, to an ideal, to a God
and so on  why? We asked this question
and we went over it. Is it because society
demands it? A particular culture produces this attitude. The society, the culture
is what we have created. Each human being has
created it.

And why do human beings,
you and I, or others, why we give importance
to one particular action  business, artistic,
political, economic, or being committed totally
to a so-called religious life? Is it because
we are seeking security? In giving ourselves over
to a particular action, committing ourselves
to a particular ideal, in that there is
certain security. There, you are very clear. You have committed yourself
to an ideal, to a utopia, and you can work for it, completely
disregarding all other activities. That gives a certain sense
of security, wellbeing, being committed to something.

In talking it over together, we saw
I hope we all understood this  that when we do this,
it is like cultivating one arm, out of proportion
to the other arm. So there is disharmony. A man or a woman committed
to a particular career  a scientist is Dr Bohm here?
Yes. Sorry.

If you are committed to be an
artist all your life or a musician, or this or that, it does
breed a certain disharmony. And we said,
what then, is harmony? I hope you are all
interested in this. It is what you asked, for those who weren't here
the other day, we are exploring this thing,
together. Then we asked, what is harmony? Can human beings
live in harmony? Harmony implies a good mind  logical, reasonable,
objective, impersonal, not thinking about oneself and one's
own attitudes and one's own opinions and cultivating those opinions,
attitudes, and so giving importance
to the intellect, which breeds disharmony.

So, to have a very good mind,
clear, objective, impersonal, and if one may use
the word 'heart', which is, affection, kindliness,
generosity, not romantic, sentimental, and to have a good body, so the three are continuously
working harmoniously so there is no distortion
in action. That is where we came to the other
day, when we were discussing this. Can this harmony
be brought about? And who is the entity or the thought
that is to bring this about? Right?
We came up to that point. We said,
can thought cultivate or struggle or exercise itself in bringing about this harmony? And we said, also, that thought
itself is born out of disharmony.

That is what we came to
and we will discuss that. Right?
May we? Will thought bring about the necessity
of living a life every day harmoniously,
so that there is no distortion, so that one doesn't give importance
to one particular thing, either to family, child, occupation,
career, money, and so on  can thought in its activity
bring this about? And is not thought itself not harmonious? Does it not breed disharmony? So, let's talk it over together
from there. What do you think?
How do you regard thought, in relation to the question, can thought bring about a life
that is totally harmonious? If thought doesn't bring it about,
then what will? This is the question that arose
from your particular question, what is the difference
between relationship and sex? Please, what do you say? Q: Sir, are you saying that thought
must always breed disharmony? K: Are you saying that
thought must be in disharmony. Let's talk it over together
and find out.

If thought is very limited, if you see that and if you  not agree  if you directly
see it, that thought is limited under all circumstances,
then that which is limited, narrow, shallow,
can that bring about harmony? We must be very clear
on this point, whether the thought is,
in itself, whatever it does, whether it says, I am God,
I am the universe, I am the whole of this and that,
it is still limited. Do we understand that question? Do we together see that point? Is not thought a small corner of a vast field? That small corner thinks it can
cover the whole of the field, it can understand the universe, the
cosmos, the whole existence of man, from that little corner. Thought has created society,
architecture, technology, etc., And is not thought, in itself,
a broken-up piece? Q: Broken-up it may be,
but I don't know about limited. I am not certain
that thought is limited.

K: You are not sure?
Q: No. K: Of what?
Q: That thought is limited. K: Thought is limited  you are not
sure that thought is limited. How am I going to
show it to you? Would you say thought...

Is thought affection? Is thought love?
Is thought compassion? Would you say that
thought can comprehend or become aware of something
it does not know? It can speculate about something
it does not know and imagine it knows. And is not thought limited
because it is born out of time? That may be
a little more difficult. Is not thought time itself? Q: But time is continuous. K: No, time is continuous
as a movement, isn't it? As a movement.
So, thought is a movement, movement born out of memory that is the residue, that memory
is the outcome of experience and knowledge.

So, knowledge is the past. Right?
Q: Yes. K: So, thought is a movement
out of the past, obviously, so it must be limited. It can project the future and say,
that is what is going to be, but it is still the outcome
of the past.

Thought has created,
according to Karl Marx, certain political,
economic ideals which have become tyrannical
and all the rest of it. So, the intellect, which is the movement of thought,
reason, logic and so on, that has created an ideal. No? Now, thought creates one ideal
and you create another ideal. No? Democratic ideal,
totalitarian ideal, national ideal, the ideal of God
and the ideal of non-God.

So thought, because it is born out
of the past, because it is of time, because it is a movement
based on certain memories, is inevitably limited. No? Don't agree with me
but see it clearly for yourself. I may be wrong. You have to understand the truth of
it, not your opinion or my opinion, that the truth is that thought,
under all circumstances, is a small corner, which tries
to dominate the rest of the field.

So, can that thought
bring about this harmony of which we were
talking about? Right? Can it? Can that which is limited
understand the unlimited? It can think,
or it can speculate, assert, and write volumes intellectually
about the unlimited, and think it will understand
the unlimited, but it is still the movement
of that little corner. So, we are asking, can that thought
bring about harmony? Come on, Shaku. If it cannot, which apparently,
if one has gone into it sufficiently it is fairly obvious that it cannot.
Right? Then what will? You understand my question? If thought cannot bring about this
essential harmony, then what will? So man has said,
God will bring it about. An outside agency, which is
omnipotent and all the rest of it, which is cosmos,
whatever name you give to it, that will,
if you can give yourself over to it, will bring this harmony.

If you abandon yourself
and let that external agency  truth, God, universe,
cosmos, what you like  that will bring this
extraordinary thing called harmony. That thing is still invented
by thought. Right? Or you hand yourself over
to some guru. He says, I know.

I will help you
to achieve this thing. So he gives you lots of systems,
meditations, etc. But it is still the movement
of that little corner. Right? So, if one realises this
or sees the truth that thought, though technologically it can
do the most marvellous things, is limited.

Thought has divided the world.
Thought has created wars, saying, this is a Christian,
this is a heathen, and wars, wars, wars. And that very movement
of thought says, I will bring this harmony
into my being. And if that is very clear,
that thought cannot, under any pressure,
under any reward or punishment, can never bring this about,
then what will? Is this question clear?
What will? Q: The thought
realises its pettiness, so it thinks that by putting many,
or greater thoughts together, it will probably build
a bigger or better picture. K: Yes.

Can the pettiness,
which is thought, can that pettiness, shallowness,
superficial thing, can that open the door
to the universe? It cannot. Then what will? Well, sir?
Come on, discuss with me. Q: But when we are asking what will,
aren't we again using thought to try to find out?
K: Yes. K: But we can ask that question,
though it is the outcome of thought, and find out if there is
a different kind of movement, 'movement' in quotes,
which is not thought.

Q: What do you mean by
a different kind of movement? K: We are going to find out. So, let's find out.
You and I find out, together. First, one must see very clearly,
definitely, irrevocably that thought is limited,
thought cannot bring this about. That is an absolute fact.

If that is so, then what takes place? Go on, sir, examine it. Q: Isn't it so that thought
must see itself, see by itself that it is not right to prevail,
to be predominant? K: Sir, you have agreed, both of us, after this examination
for nearly an hour or half an hour, and the other day we spent
an hour and 20 minutes going into this question  unless we are really obstinate
and not observing, we came to the point
that thought is limited. Q: Sir, it seems that,
in listening to this I feel that with the use of logic we
are seeing that thought is limited without actually having
a perception of it. K: We have not only used reason,
logic, sanity, you see it is a fact.

Thought has divided you
as an Indian and me as a Christian. Thought has invented
your God and my God, my Christianity and your Hinduism.
You are a Hindu, I am a Muslim. It is the result of propaganda,
of tradition, of thought wanting
security in the family, in the community,
in a group  says, I am an Indian,
I am a Muslim, I am this. Therefore,
thought has divided you and me into certain categories
of nationalities, beliefs, etc.

Q: It doesn't seem to be enough
to simply see the external fact of that. That is the external fact.
K: Yes, those are external facts. External facts which thought
has produced. Q: Yes.

K: So thought then says what:
there is the inner world. There is the outer
and the inner. Q: Yes, but Shankar
raised the question, because we can see, very readily,
that thought produces this division, but it may still be going on
in our brains. K: Of course, it will go on
in your brain, if you don't drop it.

If the thought says,
how absurd this is. And says, all right,
I won't be a Hindu or a Muslim, Jew or a Christian,
Arab and so on. Q: But it can go on
in more subtle ways. K: No, that is a different matter.
Of course, it can go on differently.

It can go on inwardly,
more subtly, by having ideals, being attached to
a particular form of experience and not moving away
from that experience. That experience gives one
a great sense of security. Thought is working
all the time, isn't it? It may not express itself outwardly,
but it is going on  jealousy, anxiety, fear,
and all the rest of it is going on. Now, let us for the moment keep
to the point, which is, can thought, even outwardly,
bring about this harmony? If it cannot, what will? Who will answer this question? Probably nobody
has put this question, nobody has written books
about it.

Even if they have, it is still
the operation of thought, the function, thought, writing.
So, what is your answer to that? Wouldn't you answer that question
or find  not an answer... All right,
let me put it differently. How do you approach
this question? Q: Sir, this question, perhaps,
can only be approached by... There are thoughts going
through my mind, constantly.

And perhaps the question
can be approached only by quietening that.
K: No. K: So, here is a question.
Thought cannot produce that. How do you approach the question?
How do you say, now, what next? How do you come to it? You understand my question?
Do you? Look, we have spent
several hours over this, when you come to the final point,
how do you receive it? How do you approach it? Because your approach
may dictate the answer, your approach
may reveal the answer. Not somebody will answer you, but after enquiry,
after exploration, you are approaching it,
aren't you, with quite a different
quality of mind  are you? All right,
may I explain a little more? I said, I see clearly that being
committed to a particular thing, a particular career, committed to
a family, a child, to this or that, does bring about disharmony.

I see that very clearly. And I say, am I committed
to a particular thing? Right? To becoming an artist,
an engineer, to this or that. And I see if I am committed that way
I must live in disharmony, therefore I must live in conflict,
anxiety, fear, sorrow  all that follows, inevitably. Though I pretend it will not, but it
will produce unfortunate reactions.

I see that very clearly. And I also see very clearly there
must be no attachment of any kind to an experience,
to a person, and so on. I see that very clearly. And am I attached, do I hold on to
a particular experience, thinking it is most
marvellously spiritual? So, there must be freedom
from all those, otherwise, I am caught
in a particular direction, therefore,
that will breed disharmony.

So, there must be
freedom from it. Then, I realise thought is,
under all circumstances, limited. I am very clear on that point. Nobody  no logic, no guru,
no saint, no god, nothing will alter that.

Right? So, what is harmony? I said, complete, total relationship
with the mind, that is harmony, and thought cannot bring it about.
Now, how do I come to that point? What has been my approach
to that point? You understand what I am saying? Do I want to find an answer? Do I want to find a way out
of my disharmony, something that will
bring about this harmony? So, I must be very clear how
I am approaching this question. Have you got
what I am talking about? Now, how do you approach it? Do you want to
live a harmonious life? If you do, it is still
the operation of thought, because that way thought says,
by jove, that is a rewarding thing, it will be marvellous, it will be
beautiful, it will be this and that. So, how do you approach it?
You can only approach it when thought has understood
its limitation and doesn't move out
of that limitation. Thought cannot produce
this harmony.

And thought has built the 'me',
the ego, the personality, and that centre says,
I must have that harmony. It is a most marvellous way
of living, therefore I must get it. So, am I committed to anything? Committed
to a particular action, the family, the child, the mother,
the father, the career, and so on. If I am, then I live
and I cultivate disharmony, which is going to produce
ugly things in my life.

If I give emphasis to sex,
as most young people do, and most people in the world do,
even the older generation, then they live, obviously,
in great misery. So, what is one to do?
You understand my question, now? So, can thought
do anything about it? Can 'I', which is the result
of thought, do anything about that? Can I practice harmony? You say, ah yes, I will have
a good mind, I will love people, I will have a good body
that is probably possible, eat properly, no smoking,
no alcohol, no drugs, etc.  But the other factors,
thought cannot bring it about. So, having that very clear, then what takes place? The movement of thought
will not answer this question.

Therefore, thought ceases to
project itself into the approach. I wonder if I am
making myself clear. Am I? Then what is the approach? If thought is not
creating the wave, then what is taking place,
which is, the approach? I don't know if I am
making myself clear. Am I? Am I? Yes? Let's put the question
differently: can thought stop? Not thought saying to itself,
I must stop.

You understand the point? Then that is the exercise of thought
suppressing thought, but thought still remains. Is that clear? So can thought
realise itself and stop? You know, we are entering
into something very complex: this is real meditation
but I won't go into all that unless you want me to. This is the essence
of meditation, for thought to realise for itself
that it is limited and therefore
it has no movement other than what is involved
in that little corner. Therefore, one asks
not one asks  can thought stop itself? Therefore, can time come to an end?
Not science fiction time, but in our life, in daily life,
can time come to an end? Not think about what you will be
or what you must be in the future, or what you have been
in the past, but all that movement
come to an end, stop.

Which is time.
I wonder if you get all this. You say, what the dickens has
all this to do with our daily life? Mary Zimbalist: You have said
that thought is always partial, and I think we have seen that. Now, this particular realisation
on the part of thought that it cannot do anything,
that it stops, is this, perhaps, also partial
because it is the action of thought and therefore we get into
trouble with this? K: It may become
a little too abstract or too subtle or whatever it is. Do you know what insight is? Wait a minute.

You have said
thought is limited  right? How did you come to that?
By reason? By logic? By explanation?
By example? Or  just listen, find out
or you had an insight into it. You saw the truth of it
instantly. That insight is unrelated
to memory. Therefore it is not
the product of thought.

MZ: What is its relation
to logic? What is the relationship
of insight to logic? K: Nothing. It has no relationship
to logic, to reason, to memory. MZ: But we have come to
this realisation about thought perhaps very largely,
through logic. We have used logic to come
to this realisation.

K: No, we have used logic
to point out, to explain, but that logic, reason,
cannot bring about insight. That is why I asked you
if you see the truth of it. To see something  wait a minute,
let's take an example  to have an insight into
the whole structure of religion, as it now exists, as it has existed,
to have a quick insight into it. From that insight you can use logic,
reason, and point out, clearly.

But the other way,
it won't work. I wonder if I am
making myself clear. Now, wait a minute. If you belong to an institution  what is implied in
belonging to an institution? What is an institution? Based on authority, rules,
routine  all that.

To be free, not to belong
to an institution, you can reason
against it or for it, but to see the inward structure
and nature of institutions, to have an insight into that,
you are free of institutions, though you may function. But the belonging to something, whether it is the institution
of Catholicism or Protestantism or communism  it is finished.
To have an insight into it is to observe without...  I don't want to go into all this
observe without the observer. It becomes too complex.

MZ: How does that differ from the
observation of something ordinary? That red car out there
will only go so fast. I can realise its limitation
just through the ordinary accumulation of knowledge
and process of thought, but how, when you are
talking about insight, is this realisation of the
limitations of abstract things... K: Madame, excuse me
I didn't want to go into this because it is too difficult.
MZ: But we are already in it. K: I brought it in, unfortunately.
I shouldn't have.

Does the word 'insight'
help you to see this? Though we have used reason, logic,
example, pointed out this and that, do you suddenly see,
in spite of the reason and logic, see the truth of it? The quick perception of it
is to have an insight into it. And if you have insight into it,
you can never go wrong. It is  what it is. Say for instance,
if you have an insight into anger  I am taking a silly example  to have an insight into it, from that insight
you can be extraordinarily logical.

You can be logical, but you
may not have insight into it. Q: Sir, even if there is
no direct connection between thought and insight, when one gives attention
to a problem because that problem
is important to that person, you said that when one gives
too much attention to family or job, that is disharmony. K: No, not too much attention
I didn't say that. Q: You are right,
you didn't say that.

When one is out of harmony,
if that becomes very important... K: No, perhaps you weren't here
the other day. When one makes the family
the most important thing, gives priority to it, or to the child, to the husband,
to the wife, to a job, that does bring disharmony.
That is all. Q: But suppose that there is importance in one's life
to getting to the bottom of thought.

K: No, are you  not you,
I am not asking you, personally  are you giving importance, priority,
to one thing over all the others? It may be sex, it may be a husband,
it may be a wife, it may be a child,
it may be a career, so on. And if one does,
why does one do it? This is what the world has done. Every human being,
more or less, does it, because he says,
I can't give priority to everything. Q: Sir, we went into it
the other day, and we saw that it was
thought's or the mind's way of playing a trick on itself, making
itself the most important thing by giving importance
to something else.

K: Yes, we went into it. So where are we
at the end of it? Have you an insight
I am using the word 'insight' rather carefully
and hesitantly  into the nature of harmony? Have you? That if I am attached to
my husband, wife, girl, child, that I will have no insight
into the nature of harmony  obviously  will I? If I am attached to my career
as a politician  God forbid  can I have harmony?
You follow? It is impossible. So, will I abandon my career
as a politician? If I can't, then I won't talk about
harmony, it is meaningless. I may talk about it intellectually,
play with it  that is silly.

So, can I drop
my becoming a politician? That will give me position,
that will give me power, that will give me money
and so on. But if I saw
the nature of harmony, saw clearly, have an insight
into the beauty of it, this thing has no meaning
it is gone. I am no longer a politician. Q: I am still approaching
the harmony and insight both through thought, as I have no other
instrument to try and understand.

The issue of harmony
and insight, both of these I am trying to
understand through thought. K: No, not through thought.
Sorry. Q: Is there a difference between
the nature of harmony and the harmony of nature?
K: Between? Q: The nature of harmony
and the harmony of nature. K: No!
It is the same thing, isn't it? Does one realise
the contradiction between what you think,
what you feel, do you realise actually,
not theoretically, the interaction or the lack
of interaction between the three  mind, body, heart.

I have used the
word 'heart' to convey a great deal, which we have gone into. Does one see a harmonious interrelationship
between the three? Or there is no relationship
between the three. One is operating much more
than the other. Intellect may be
highly developed, or romantically feeling sentimental
and emotional and becoming rather gooey.

Or giving emphasis
to the soma, the body, which says, I must have tasty food,
drink, smoke, sex  sensation. Do we realise this? Then, if we realise that
there is a break between the three, then thought says,
I must relate it, I must bring about
an interrelationship, interaction, which will be even, which will flow smoothly. Therefore it says,
I must control my body, I mustn't eat more
than I should, I must restrict my emotions
it is still the movement of thought. I wonder if you get this.

Now, wait a minute.
How do you see this? Is it an idea? A description
which you are accepting? The words with their meaning, you say, yes,
that is perfectly right, it is true, and from there
you move to an idea. Or do you see it
actually in your life? Q: Sir, do you mean that tomorrow
when I come upon this again, I don't think about the words
that we said about it today and face it, as it is, in my life?
K: Shankar, look at it, please. Give a minute's thought.
I am not being personal with you. Do you realise that there is a
contradiction between the three? Do you? If you realise  and what do
you mean by that word realise? Is it an actual fact or is it
an idea that there is a division? Q: No,
it is happening to me now.

I am sitting here and
I am trying to listen to you, at the same time something tells me
it is lunchtime and I am hungry and I want to go and eat. K: Yes, give another five minutes
more before we get really hungry! But I am asking you, Shankar,
a simple question, which is, how do you listen to this statement,
to my question, which is,
do you find in yourself a break between the intellect,
the heart and so on? Is there a gap between them,
and so contradiction? Now, wait a minute.
How do you see that? How are you aware of that fact
that there is a division, a break? Is that an idea, or you say,
yes, there is a break? Because we live
so much in ideas, and then try to put
that idea into action. So, we have moved away
from the fact. Right? Is it time to stop? Is your hunger dominating, predominant? Right, we had better stop,
don't you think? Yes? Right, we must stop..

Krishnamurti:
What shall we talk about together? What would you like to
talk over this morning? Questioner: Can we talk
about attention? Attention and
the nature of perception. K: Attention and?
Q: Perception. K: Is there anything else? Q: Last time, we were going to
continue to look at insight. K: Or what is insight.

Attention, perception,
insight  what else? Q: About energy.
K: About energy. By Jove. Anything else? Perception, insight, energy. Should we talk about all that
what is insight and so on? Shall we? Are you interested in it? Seriously,
or just to pass the time? What is attention? What do you think
is the difference between concentration, awareness and attention? What do you think is the difference
between those three? To concentrate on something.

What takes place
when you concentrate? Aren't you bringing
all your energy, focused on a particular page or on mathematics, history,
whatever it is  bringing all your energy and
focusing on a particular subject? Would you call that
concentration? Q: The word implies it  centre.
K: Yes, centre, concentrate. So, bringing all the energy
to centre upon something. Q: It also implies effort. K: Yes,
what is implied is effort, and also, what more is implied? Q: Also cutting
everything else out.

K: Cutting out everything else. That is, you are trying
to concentrate, to centre your attention
on a particular subject and resist the other thoughts
interfering upon that which you are centred. So, there is an effort
when you concentrate to push aside
every other thought except the one thought
centred upon a particular subject. We would call that
concentration, wouldn't you? You would call that concentration,
wouldn't you? Right? You are sure? Then what is the difference
between that and awareness, to be aware? The other day when we were talking
over together with the students, you asked a question:
what is it to be sensitive? In awareness, is there not implied
a great deal of sensitivity? Examine it, let's look into it.

Please don't accept
anything I say. But let's talk it over together, let's see all
the implications in it. That is, we understand now
what it means to concentrate  to centre all your energy
and focus on a particular subject. Then what do we mean by aware, to be aware? I am aware that you are
sitting on the floor.

I am not concentrating. I am aware, I watch, I perceive that you have got
a red shirt or blue shirt and so on  I perceive. I am aware of the shape of the hall,
the roof, what kind of roof it is, the curtains, the sunlight,
all that. Now, in that awareness,
is there any choice? You understand what I mean? In that awareness,
I look at that red shirt and say, I don't like that shirt,
I prefer a pink shirt.

I don't like that
particular kind of dress, I prefer something else. In that process,
what takes place? Q: In awareness?
K: In awareness, what takes place? K:When I say, I like that shirt
and I don't like that shirt, I like the roof, I don't like
that window, and so on. Q: You are comparing. Q: That is making judgments.

K: Judgment.
On what is that judgment based? Q: My tastes.
My experience and my taste. K: Your like and dislike.
Go further into it. Go on. Isn't there implied in that:
choice.

I choose the red shirt,
I don't like the blue shirt. There is choice, isn't there? So, as long as there is choice
in awareness, is there awareness? You understand my question? To be aware implies to be sensitive
to everything, doesn't it? To the tree outside,
the sunlight on the green lawn, and the yellowing leaves
of autumn, the clouds, the beauty of the earth, and coming from the outside to be aware of the roof,
of the walls, of the curtains, how you are sitting. But if there is choice in that,
I am not totally aware, I am only choosing that
particular thing. You get it? If we have understood
concentration, awareness, then what is attention? To attend.

Go on. Q: Directing your energy towards
something that you are interested in without resisting other things,
you are just interested in that. K: We said, didn't we,
that when there is concentration, there is a centring
of energy upon something? There is a centre from which
you are concentrating, you are giving your energy. In awareness,
if there is any choice it is still part of that centre
choosing.

Right? And in attention,
is there any centre, is there any concentration
at all? There is only attending. I wonder if you see. That is, I want to learn
the art of listening. The art of listening, that is,
we said the other day too that art implies putting everything
in its right place.

That is the meaning
of that word. To listen, not to your prejudices,
not to your conclusions, what you think,
what you don't think, but to listen entirely, completely,
to what the other fellow is saying. That is attention, isn't it? Where there is no choice,
there is no centre from which you are
forcing yourself to look. Here there is no centre
or choice, you are completely attentive
with all your ears, eyes, nerves, completely sensitive
to everything.

That is, not only sensitive
to what is happening outside  politically, economically,
socially, so-called religiously, but also to be attentive
to what is happening inside, psychologically, conscious of the thoughts,
the feelings, the prejudices, the fears, the conclusions,
all that, to see the whole of that,
is to be attentive. Would that be right? Mr Joe,
what do you say to that? So, let's go back. You are in the class.
You are trying to concentrate on what the teacher
is trying to tell you, and you are not
paying complete attention because you are looking
out of the window. You are looking out
of the window, and you force yourself
not to look out of the window and come back to the book.

Haven't you noticed this?
Q: Yes. K: Good.
At last there is something. Q: That is concentration, isn't it?
K: Wait, I am coming to that. So in that there is conflict,
isn't there? You want to look out
of the window and at the same time
you want to look at the book, so there is conflict.

So, attention implies
non-conflict. That is, when you are
looking out of the window, look out of the window,
completely. See the movement of the leaves,
the sky, the clouds, the sunlight
be completely attentive to that and then come back to the book. So one learns
the art of attention not by forcing, not by practising,
not by compelling, but giving your attention
to what you are...

If you want to look
at somebody's face, look completely, so that there is no battle
going on inside you. Can you do it? Q: It seems to me
that people pay attention when they are interested
or when there is a motive. K: Yes.
You pay attention, he points out, only when you are interested. Do you? Do you pay attention
when you are interested? Do you? Go into it carefully,
don't agree.

You are interested
in playing guitar. Do you give
complete attention to it? The whole implication is, whether you really want
to play guitar or is it an escape, or is it just
a passing interest, or is it that you are competing with whoever
the latest guru in guitar is. If you are completely interested
there is no comparison. You are completely aware,
attentive to what you are doing.

Are you doing this now? When you listen to what
the speaker is saying, are you listening completely? Or you are looking
at somebody else, or your thoughts are going off
in some direction. Are you listening with complete
attention to what is being said? In that attention
there is no conflict  you are listening. Right. So, that is the point.

When there is attention, the implication of that is
that the mind, the brain is not directing, moving
in a particular direction. I wonder if you see this. When there is attention,
is there any motive? The meaning of the word
'motive' implies a cause from which
there is a movement. Q: Because that
would be a centre.

K: No, listen first.
Do it, not verbalise it. The meaning of
the word 'motive' is: a movement which has a cause. From a cause, move. Is this too difficult? No.

So, find out when there is attention,
is there a motive? Is there a cause
which make you attend? If there is a cause,
it is not attentive. A cause implies a direction. Right? Do you see all this? So, as we said, what is insight? Insight is that state of mind
which is completely attentive and therefore no motive, and such a mind which is quiet
has an insight into something. Insight into what is being said,
whether it is true or false, have an insight into something.

No, you haven't got it. Is this somewhat clear? No. You all look rather bedazed. Let's go into it.

Scott Forbes:
If there is no motive what would inspire you to give
all of your attention to something? K: What would make you
give all your attention? Just look, find out. Find out for yourself. We said,
if there is any motive  motive implies a movement
which has a cause  which is, I want to do something,
from that motive, move. There is a centre which says,
I must go in that direction because it is most pleasant
or it is most agreeable, or I don't want to go
in that direction because it is not profitable, I might be punished,
there might be fear.

So, when there is a cause there is a direction. Is there, in attention, a cause? Which means a motive
to be attentive. A motive might be because I will get something
from this attention. I might profit from it,
I will avoid pain, I will avoid this or that.

Now, when there is
a cause for attention, is it attention,
I am asking you? I am not saying yes or no.
I am asking you to investigate, to find out
when you are attentive, when there is a cause,
is there attention? It may be a little bit
too difficult. You also asked what does
it mean to have insight. What does it mean to have an insight
into the nature of attention? Right? What is it to have an insight into the structure
and nature of attention? We said there is no attention
when there is concentration. That is fairly simple, isn't it? Because there I am resisting
every other thought except the one thought.

Thought wanders off, I try to
pull it back and try to concentrate. So there is constant effort, constant movement from this to that,
and from that to pull back. This is simple. Right, sir? Now, when there is attention,
is there such movement? And attention implies
that you are paying attention with all your being,
with all your energy, with everything that you have,
attending to something.

Now, wait a minute. When there is great danger,
don't you attend? Q: Yes. K: Don't you? What is implied in that?
Look at it, carefully. Great danger  a car coming towards you
at full speed, what takes place there? Or when you see something
terribly dangerous, what takes place there? Go on.

I am doing all the talking.
You go on, investigate together. What takes place? Q: You act. K: You react.
What is your reaction? Q: Usually, it is a good action. K: Good or bad,
it doesn't matter, we are not talking of
good action or bad action.

What is the reaction when you see
something tremendously dangerous? It must have happened
to all of you. Some danger.
Some kind of danger. At that moment, aren't you
paying tremendous attention? Q: The reaction is not a process
of thinking, it is very quick. K: Very quick.

I am talking of
that moment which is very rapid. What takes place? There is a cause, isn't there? To save yourself, self-protective movement, which is quite natural, isn't it?
Otherwise you would be destroyed. Q: Yes. K: Right? So there is the reaction
of self-protectiveness when there is
tremendous danger.

In that danger, the whole response of your brain
is to walk away from it, move away from it. Now, if there is no danger, if there is no direction  danger is a form
of direction  is there attention at all
without a cause? This is too difficult. And when there is attention
without cause the mind is
extraordinarily alive and then only there is
an insight into something. As we were saying
the other day, science means pure observation  not only into matter, into
all the things scientists are doing, but also an observation
into oneself.

Pure observing. The purity of observation
of oneself. You understand? Can you do it? To observe
without any distortion, to see what you are  why you think this, for what reason do you pursue
a certain thing, to be attentive, to be aware, or to observe
with clarity and purity of what is going on inwardly  as you observe what is going on,
outwardly. When you observe outwardly  the tree, etc.

If you don't like it,
that is a motive, isn't it? You have already decided
to move away from it. Can you observe
without any distortion, not only out there
but also what is going on inside, without any like and dislike, without wanting something, frightened, just to observe? Can you do it?
Will you do it? Just for the fun of it,
just see what takes place, what happens. Have you ever watched a cloud? Just watch it. See the light on it,
the shape of it, the movement that is going on, just to observe it  you know, just watch.

Can you do it? You can, can't you? Now, can you do the same thing  watch yourself
without any movement? Any movement, that is,
any form of distortion, like and dislike, without saying,
I don't like what I am? Can you observe that way? You can the microphone,
can't you? Because it is a microphone,
it is very easy. You can't call it a giraffe
or anything. So, in the same way,
to look at yourself. When you observe yourself
with complete purity  I am using the word 'purity'
as without any colouring, any distortion,
any form of twisting what you see  and in that observation,
there is an insight, an insight totally
of what you are.

Will you do it? Because it is another form
of education, isn't it, really? We are educated in facts, in theories,
in speculations, etc. Mathematics, history and so on. We never educate ourselves by observing ourselves. Will you do it? Because if you do it your mind becomes
extraordinarily clear, because then you are not caught
in any illusion, you move from fact to fact.

To observe when you are angry. You can observe anger arising,
can't you? Can you? Obviously. Right? You can observe
the arising of greed. You can observe somebody
calling you a fool and getting hurt  you can observe that,
the movement.

Now, can you observe  it may be a little bit difficult
can you observe thought arising? Do you remember, we talked
about it the other day? We said, all registration
is the basis of thinking. The brain registers
an incident and from the memory
of that incident, thought arises. The incident is that
you have said something to me which is not pleasant,
which is rather hurting. So the brain registers
the hurt and from that, thought arises.

You can observe this very simply.
It is not complicated. Right? So you know for yourself the origin or the beginning
of thought. Do you? Look, your brain is the result of
thousands and thousands of years as a human being  coming from the animal
or whatever you like  from the beginning of time. There, human beings have
registered for centuries.

They have said,
I am a Muslim. The brain has registered
what it has been told, that you are a Hindu
or a Christian, or British, or a Frenchman. It has been registered. And from that, there is
the assertion that I am British or I am an Arab, and so on.

So from this conditioning,
which is the form of registration, arises all the reaction
of thought. Got it? Don't accept it, investigate it. Find out for yourself if
what is being said is false or true. Some of you live in America,
or Indonesia, or in Europe, Far East or Far West  not in California but Far West,
in the sense, America.

The Americans are conditioned, the Europeans including
the British are conditioned, the Indians are conditioned. That is, the centuries
and centuries of propaganda, of repetition, of superstition,
of belief and so on, that has been registered,
conditioned the mind, the brain. Haven't you noticed this? From that you say,
I am an American, or I am a Hindu,
I am this or I am that. So, thinking begins when there is registration.

Now, there must be registration,
as we said, in certain things. If I want to drive a car,
I must learn how to drive it, the brain must register. And then after a while
it becomes automatic, but it has registered. If I want to speak
a particular language I must learn the words,
registration and so on, and from that, I speak.

Is it possible
just listen to this  is it possible not to register
any psychological facts? You understand? I must register when
I am learning how to drive a car. Why should there be registration
when you call me a fool, which hurts me? Why should I register? Why should the brain register
when you call me a fool? Go on, find out. I have an image about myself. I think I am a very great man,
or some silly thing I think I am.

I have built an image
about myself  my parents have helped me
to build the image, the school has helped me
to build the image, university, society, girlfriend or boyfriend  there has been
a building of image. Haven't you noticed this? Good. That image gets hurt,
doesn't it? Because you are that image. You are not separate
from that image.

Right? So, not to be hurt
implies no image. Can you live a life
from now on until you die  which I hope will be
a very long time  not to have any kind of
psychological image at all? Can you do it? To find out implies
to be attentive at the moment when
somebody calls you a fool, or when somebody says,
what a marvellous person you are, which is the same thing. Not to register implies
total attention at that moment. Q: So, Krishnaji, when someone
calls me a fool or they flatter me and I notice that I am happy or sad,
is that attention? K: No, sir.

You have said
two different things. When somebody calls you a fool
not you but me  somebody calls me a fool
or flatters me, the image which I have
built about myself  and I am that image,
I am not different from that image  that image gets hurt or that image feels flattered. When you are flattering me or calling me a fool, to be totally attentive
at that moment, then there is no registration. Have you got it? Will you do it? Not here,
not just verbally agree, but all your life,
while you are here at Brockwood for the next two or three
or five years, not to get hurt.

It is the most marvellous thing,
if you can do it. Never to be hurt by anybody, which means not to have
a single image about yourself. Q: When you say,
to be without an image, implies that you are different
from the image, doesn't it? K: No. You know how
images are formed? Don't you know? Go on, investigate it.

You have an image
about yourself, haven't you? How is it formed? Who has formed it? Go on. You are a Brahmin, from India. By what right do you
call yourself a Brahmin? Why? Go on, find out! Because your mother,
your father, your grandfather, generations and generations
said, we are Brahmins. And that propaganda,
that assertion that Brahmins do this
and don't do that, all that has been registered
in the brain.

The brain has registered it. And then, having registered it,
when I ask you what you are, the reaction is,
I am a Brahmin. You see how the image is made? Do you? Oh, come on,
I have explained it. You have an image of yourself
as a Christian, haven't you? No?
Q: No.

K: That is, your parents say,
nonsense, and brush that aside, but some of you may be living in a world
that says we are Christians, or Catholics, or protestants, and there is an image
of what a Catholic should be. He believes in the saviour, the only saviour
which is Jesus Christ, there is the Virgin Mary,
all the rituals, all the dogmas, all the circus that
goes on around that. That has been registered
for 2,000 years  the brain has been
imprinted with that. All that has been imprinted
on the brain.

So, the brain has an image
that you are a Catholic. That is simple, no?
Q: Yes. K: Can you wipe away
all that image? Can the image
disappear completely? Because, see the danger
of having images. The danger.

See what is happening: The Arab has an image
and the Israelis have an image, so they are at battle
with each other. The Muslim and the Hindu, the communist, socialist
and the capitalist and so on  each individual of that group
has an image. So, they are all always
in conflict with each other. Right?
Do you see this? War is the result
of these images.

No? One of the reasons of war. There are other reasons, but one
reason is good enough to discuss. So, can you be
free of your image as a Hindu, Buddhist, Catholic, Jew, Arab, Indonesian,
whatever it is. Why carry that image? You understand my question? It is such a burden.
It is a bore! If you have an image,
you are going to be hurt and when you are hurt
you build a wall around yourself and you isolate yourself, and you are frightened
to go out of that because you might get hurt.

Do you see this? Now, are you listening
with complete attention? Listen carefully to what I am
going to tell you in a minute. Are you listening completely
with attention to what we have said
about image? If you have, you are not forming
an image that says, I must get rid of the image. You understand what I said? No. I listen to what has
been said about image  how the images are formed, the importance of being free
from all images because those bring about
conflict between human beings.

If I listen to it
with complete attention, there is no image. Attention wipes away the image. Right? And therefore you don't form
another image. Do you get this, some of you? Now, have you listened
with complete attention, so that you have no image? Go on.

Or you have some images
which are rather pleasurable. Some images we say, I rather like
that image about myself. Somebody calls me a great man,
and I like that image. So I keep to that image.

And somebody comes along
and says, you are not as great
as you think you are, I am hurt, because
I have got the image. So, can you pay attention and see the whole nature of building images? It is part of your education,
isn't it? Can you do it? Not say,
I am an awfully clever man, I am an awfully clever chap. Some of you think that already. Better, superior
to somebody else  that is an image
about yourself.

Somebody comes and says,
don't be silly, you are not clever
as you think you are, so you shrink. You get the point? Right? We have talked
about insight, what do we mean
by attention, what were the other questions? Q: Somebody mentioned energy. K: Energy. When you are attending, all your energy is there.

When you are
not paying attention, the energy is dissipated
or divided or broken down. Do you notice that? This is really a very
complicated question, this energy business. Registration, as we said,
takes energy, doesn't it? The Nagra, that machine, is now registering
what we are talking about. To register,
that requires energy, electrical form of energy.

Now, when you don't register... You get the point? There must be registration when there is learning
how to drive a car, but when there is
no building of images, which requires energy, and if there is no building images
what happens to that energy? This is a little too much. You see, while you are very young,
as you are, you have plenty of energy in every direction
plenty of energy. You want to go and walk,
play games, do all kinds of things, things which are orderly
or disorderly, for yourself, not about outside disorderly, that is also implied.

When there is no knowledge
or information about the way that energy
should be expressed, that energy becomes very
mischievous or destructive or merely pleasurable, sexual and so on. Do you see this? I wonder. You see the implications
of all this? Or have I got to go into
all the details of it? Q: Are you suggesting
that we channel our energy into these various things? K: Who is there to channel, to say, I will use my energy
in that direction'? There is a centre, isn't there? There is a direction. The movement of the direction
has a cause.

The cause may be, I like that, therefore, I will put all my energy
in that direction. What happens when you do that? Look at it carefully, watch it. You have plenty of energy. You are young, all the glands are
working powerfully and so on.

You have got plenty of energy,
and you say, I will give all my energy
to guitar, or all my energy to sex, or all my energy playing,
doing something or other. What happens when you give all your energy
in a particular direction, whether pleasurable or
the avoidance of pain  same thing. Go on, inquire.
For God's sake, use your brains
to find out what happens. Q: There is no energy
for anything else.

K: No, I understand that. When all your energy
has been given to playing a violin, you become first-class at it,
great skill, because you have given
all your energy  what happens? Need I tell you that? Can't you find out? Q: The thing becomes out of place. Whatever you are giving all your
energy to becomes out of place. K: Comes out?
Q: Out of place.

No, out of place. K: Out of place
which means what? Q: Distortion.
K: Watch carefully. Out of place
find out what it means. Don't just offer your opinion, find out what is implied
in what she said.

It is out of place.
What does that mean? Q: The proportion of it. K: Go on
which means what? Q: A disorder, an imbalance. K: Imbalance, isn't it? Q: You have no energy left
for anything else. K: It is an imbalance if I give
all my energy to one thing, I am not balanced all round.

Right? Then what happens
when I am not harmonious? What happens when I am only
cultivating one direction of energy? There is imbalance, obviously. There is no balance. Therefore, what takes place
when there is no balance, when there is no harmony? I am very good at violin,
I am stupid elsewhere. Stupid in my relation to my wife,
my children or with society.

So, what takes place
when there is imbalance? Q: I am not aware of other things.
K: Yes, you are not sensitive. Go further into it
what happens? I bring conflict, don't I?
In myself and in others. No? Q: For example, with the violin
you will become obsessed with it. You have to fulfil
other functions and then you can't get on
with anyone else because all you want to do
is play the violin.

K: So what happens? Q: Nothing works anymore. K: Yes. So, where there is imbalance
there must be conflict. Energy then is spent in continuing the conflict or trying to find out
how to avoid conflict, or how to escape from all this.

Because I am imbalanced,
I am neurotic, in essence. You understand? When a person gives all his
energy in one direction, obviously,
it is a neurotic way of living. So, go from that. Is it possible to have
a harmonious life in which there is no imbalance but every action
complete in itself? You understand? Oh, this is too difficult.

Q: What is it that decides how much energy is proper
to give to something? Supposing you are a violinist,
it takes tremendous energy and time, you want to be good at it. But where is the dividing line between that necessary application
and a neurotic one? K: I understand that. Where do you draw the line? Where do you say,
I will give my energy to this completely, or I will give
partial energy to this and partial energy to that,
and so on. If you give partial energy
to play the violin, it is finished  you can't be
a first-class violinist.

So, what will you do? Go on, inquire, find out. Q: Wouldn't attention
then come into that? Attention
or a kind of insight into that, to understand how the energies
have to be balanced. K: Look, you want to be
a first-class violinist, right? Suppose you do. And you naturally have to give
a great deal of energy to it.

And you haven't time or sufficient
energy in other directions, therefore you don't live
a balanced life. And you want to live a balanced life
and yet be very good at violin. What will you do? Q: There are two desires, now. K: What are you saying? Q: They are opposing.

The two desires you have,
are opposing and it leads nowhere. K: Would you ask yourself, though I want to be
a very good violinist, I want to live a total life? A life that is whole. Would you ask that question? I want to be
a very good violinist, but also I want to live a life
that is whole, that is complete,
that is not fragmented  I am a violinist,
I am nothing else  or this or that. I want to live a life
that is whole  that means healthy,
sane, holy  I want to live such a life and yet
I want to be very good at violin.

Q: If you see that, then you don't
have to draw any line, it will just happen properly. K: I didn't quite hear. Q: In wanting a balanced life, if you really see
how necessary it is, and you also want
to play the violin and if you can
really see everything, you won't have to draw any line.
K: No. K: Will you do that? Or is it just a lot of words? Will you, though you want
to be very good at something, see the importance
and the necessity of leading a life
that is harmonious, whole, complete,
not fragmented? And because you see
the utter importance of it, there is no fragmentation.

Right?
Do you see that? Not verbally,
but do you actually see the importance of not living
a fragmentary life? Because after all, playing the violin and being
good at it is a fragmentary life. But if I see
the tremendous importance of living a life that is whole,
then the violin has its place. Right? Therefore,
which is more important, being good at violin or seeing the way
of living harmoniously in which the violin
has its place? When you see that,
there is no problem. You understand this? Q: Yes, then there is no choice.
K: So, do you see it? K: Or you merely agree
with the words which I am using? Do you see for yourself
the importance, the utter, complete, total importance
of living a life that is whole, not fragmented? All our life is fragmented I am a businessman, I am an artist, I am an engineer and so on, a religious man
everything is divided, fragmented.

I am a Hindu, you are a Christian,
a protestant  same thing. Nationally, religiously,
economically, linguistically, we are all
fragmented human beings. Are you aware
that you are fragmented? Are you? You are? If you are, you are. Q: I think one of the difficulties
when you talked about the image  is that there is still the feeling
that I can have an image of myself but even if I drop that image,
there will be a 'myself' inside.

K: As we said,
'yourself' is the image. Q: Nothing but that? K: If there is no image at all,
is there the image-maker? This is a little too much. You have said something,
which is, the image is the cause
of fragmentation. You have an image about yourself
and if I have an image about myself then we are...

Right? So, the cause of fragmentation
is the image-making. I see some great
violinist playing and I say, by Jove,
I would like to do that because, first of all,
I have a little talent about it, it gets a lot of money,
and the applause of the public. The vanity, all that is involved
and I like that. That is my image.

I am that image. So, to have no image implies
living a total life, a life that is completely
harmonious, not fragmented. Can you do this
while you are here at Brockwood? Find out, go into it. See how important it is
not to have an image.

You won't get hurt  you know,
the whole business of it. Then you are a free human being
and it is a marvellous state because in that
there is tremendous clarity. Out of clarity comes compassion
and skill and all the rest of it. Is that enough for this morning? We also talked a great deal
about meditation, didn't we, the other day? Perhaps we can have one more meeting
with the students before I go away.

I am just beginning that thing
which we started the other day about meditation. Do you remember, we pointed out the various forms
of historical process of meditation? You see, to understand
the whole image-making process and see all the implications of it
is a form of meditation, isn't it? No? Because I am
meditating about something. I begin meditating
about something, about the making of images. I go into it,
I think about it, I watch it, and I see the implications and
the destructive nature of images.

And to have an insight into it, the mind must be free
from all prejudices. That is the beginning
of meditation  to ponder over something. And as you go into it more and more,
it is not meditation about something but a state of mind
which is in meditation. This is very difficult,
I won't go into it.

Q: When you say to meditate
about image-making, isn't that a direction? K: No, I am watching. Meditation is to ponder over,
think over, observe. Observe how you form an image, how you cling to certain images
and avoid other images  to observe that. That is a form of meditation.

Q: Yes,
but isn't there choice involved, that I will observe this
and not something else? K: I observe how the images
are being made. From that, I may discover that
where there is image, there is fear. And I may look at fear:
why there is fear, what is fear,
what is the root of fear. To find that out,
I must not escape from it.

There must be no escape,
there must be no suppression, no saying,
I am justified to have fear. You just observe. That is a form of meditation. And to observe very clearly, without distortion,
observe purely, the mind must not be chattering, must be attentive
in observation.

Can you do all this, poor chaps? It is really not
very complicated. Complication arises when you are
trying to convey something which you haven't heard before. Then you are trying to understand
what the other fellow is saying. You are not here to understand
what the other fellow is saying, but to understand, through the words
the other fellow is using, to observe yourself.

So the other person
doesn't become an authority, you just observe. I think that is enough,
don't you? Right..

Interior Design in Bangalore FURDO DESIGNSJR Pavilion3BHK

How do you feel living in this Furdo designed
home? Its awesome I love it. This is what I wanted and I got it. Its nice that they asked me how much we
want, what are the things you want, what are the things you want incorporated, what are
the old stuff which you are carrying from your old home, what you have in the new home,
all these stuff had to be integrated. So based on that they had given me 2 - 3 designs.

During the site visit itself you told me that
wanted a wall where you can display your Tanjore paintings. Yes, yes. I love paintings and all that so we had to
come up with the theme wall to display those Tanjore paintings. So they decided to put this wall which is
the centre.

My husband wanted a very bright kitchen and
I wanted a very neutral one. We got some equilibrium over there. I got the neutrals on the top and he got the
bright color at the bottom. Master bedroom is quite interesting actually.

The flooring is brown, the bed is brown, and
theres a sit-out window where you can sit and read a book or something. Already half of it is brown so we had maintain
it so I wanted a neutral shade along with the bookshelf and TV unit s thats come
out really lovely. The kids room, I wanted everything to be completely
functional. Its not just the aesthetics.

I didnt choose any wardrobes because the
sliders were above and all the toys and bookshelf were at the bottom and they have easy access
to it. And we have a ball rack. The pooja - the whole house is a different
thing but the pooja is extremely connected to my family. They dont mind me changing anything else
but the pooja had to be extremely, totally beautiful.

The execution team - I didnt have to follow
up much everything was done beautifully by the execution team. Ramya, I really loved working with you with
all the inputs that you had shared I could clearly make it out. And I really love the house. Its been a beautiful journey with Furdo
and I wouldnt mind recommending it to anyone else.

Thank you so much Ramya. Thank you..

I Am Supported Meditative Movement

Welcome to the 21 Day Meditative Movement
Challenge. I'm Ellie Peterson here to show you how you
can incorporate the movements into your day so you can have more peace and joy, feel healthier,
happier and whole. The first movement that we're going to practice
is the I Am Supported Meditative Movement. The Universe supplies everything we need and
it's our job to acknowledge that, feel it throughout the day, and affirm that we are
supported.

We start the movement by having our feet about
hip width apart. You can also perform this movement as you
are seated. The real key is to make sure that you are
understanding how your body feels and make adjustments so that you feel supported. So if you are standing, feel your feet against
the floor.

If you are seated, feel your feet against
the floor. Know that ultimately you are connected to
the earth. Now move your feet a little bit out to the
side. Notice how your body feels.

That slight change because our body is totally
connected. Also feels differently. Now bring your toes together. Notice where your body feels that stretch.

Then find a position where you feel supported. Now extend your feet out a little bit further. Do you feel supported in this position? Bringing your feet closer together. How does that feel? For me feeling supported in a standing position
my feet are about hip width apart with my toes pointed out just a little bit.

Now we focus on our breath. Inhaling through your nose, exhaling through
your mouth. I invite you to close your eyes. Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through
your mouth.

Now we will add the affirmation on the exhalation. Inhaling through your nose. Saying outloud, "I am supported." And feel that support. Enjoy it.

Let's try it again. Inhaling, exhaling the affirmation, "I am
supported." Try it again. Inhale. Exhaling, "I am supported." One more.

Take a deep breath, inhaling. Exhaling, "I am supported." And now your head. Bring your head forward. Notice how it feels.

Bring your head back and notice the difference. Move your head to the side. Nice easy stretch and if anything hurts you
want to stop the movement. Moving your head to the other side, feel your
neck stretch.

And then bringing your head back to center
where you want your spine to be aligned. Invite you to close your eyes and focusing
your attention on your breath, inhaling, exhaling. Ready to add the mantra. Take a deep breath, inhaling.

Exhaling, "I am supported." Inhale. Exhaling, "I am supported." Try it again. Inhaling, exhaling "I am supported." One more. Take a deep breath, inhale.

Exhaling, "I am supported." Now it's your neck and shoulders, bring them
close to your ears, notice how you can create tension. That's important to realize. Now bring your shoulders down and notice the
difference. Try it again, shoulders come up.

Feel that tension that you can create, bringing
your shoulders back down, noticing the difference. Now bringing your shoulders in. Feel your upper back stretch, your chest is
contracted. Now go the other way.

Back is contracted, chest is extended. Try it again, shoulders come in. Feel that stretch, bringing them back out. The supported position is when your muscles
are neither contracted or extended.

They are in their relaxed position. Hands are open. Focus on your breath. Take a deep breath.

Inhale. Exhaling. Another deep breath, inhaling. Adding the affirmation, "I am supported." Try it again.

Inhale. Exhaling, "I am supported." Try another one. Take a deep breath. Inhale.

Exhaling, "I am supported." Last one. Inhale. Exhaling, "I am supported." Now it's your core. Moving your core side to side.

Feeling your body stretch. Circling around. Noticing how your body feels. Find that supported position.

For me it's bringing my stomach in and tucking
my seat under. Invite you to close your eyes and focusing
your attention on your breath. Inhaling. Exhaling.

Inhaling again. Adding the mantra, "I am supported." Inhale. Exhaling, "I am supported." Try it again. Inhaling.

Exhaling, "I am supported." Last one. Take a deep breath inhaling. Exhaling, "I am supported." In your supported position, slowly bring your
chin to your chest and as you nod know that this is your way of saying yes to life. We are all here.

You are supported. One more. This concludes the I Am Supported Meditative
Movement. Remember to practice it 3 times a day for
about 3 minutes.

And then notice throughout your day how you
feel supported..

How To PROSPER and GROW in Times of CHALLENGE and CHANGE with Michael Bernard Beckwith (The Secret)

How To PROSPER and GROW in Times of CHALLENGE and CHANGE with Michael Bernard Beckwith (The Secret) in times of challenge and change there
are key questions many share how can we prosper and grow do we search for
meaning or breast or survival something within you knows that there are answers
to those profound questions I want to evolve I want to express myself better
I've joined world-renowned author teacher and philosopher Michael Bernard
Beckwith as we explore and celebrate all of our human potential the answer is you is next I'm so glad that you're here with us
this evening individuals are walking the planet now
and they're asking how can I stay expanded in a world that seems to be
contracting how can I evolve when everything seems to be dissolving right
in front of me how can I become more myself when the world seems to be
crumbling right in front of me and many of you here today probably have
some of those same questions how could I. Make it through the night how can I have
what I need how can I grow more in prosperity how
can I achieve a level of well-being and health and harmony and wholeness in my
life when it seems as though everything is topsy-turvy and something within you
knows that there are answers to those basic but yet profound questions
something within you knows is that within you is the answer something
within you knows that if you keep on asking the right question if you keep on
digging if you keep on searching you'll eventually bump into the answer and
ultimately you will discover it that it's with you all of the time ultimately
you'll begin to discover who you are in this moment you can think independent of
any circumstances going on in your life right this moment as you're sitting here
listening to me there may be some issue that you're seeking to solve there may
be some problem you're trying to overcome there may be some sense of
discomfort that you're trying to free yourself from and as you're sitting here
listening to me right now you're thinking independent of that experience
and that means you are exercising the faculty that you have with the universal
presence to think independent of any issue that's going on and enter into a
co-creative relationship with this presence and ultimately change your life
ultimately change your life so in substance what I'm saying that you're
not the body you have a body you're not the mind you have a mind that you are an
avenue of awareness that is conscious of the body
you're an Avenue of awareness that's conscious of the mind and as you begin
to expand your awareness as to who and what you really are you get to make
choice says that liberates you from limitation
liberates you from disease liberate you from discomfort liberate you from
poverty and lack and limitation choice is actually a function of ever expanding
awareness and as you begin to have certain practices in your life certain
heart sets and mind sets you will begin to make the great discovery that all of
the power and presence and love prosperity abundance joy spontaneous
goodness happiness all the things that seem so fleeting that seem to be outside
of yourself just outside of your grasp you'll begin to discover that they are
deep within you waiting to escape that you're not here to get them that you are
here to let them you're not here to get it you're here to let it flow by making
high choices from an expanded awareness as to who and what you really are
you want to think about that for a moment because what I have just told you
in short is that you no longer need to be a victim to circumstance you no
longer need to be a victim to the past you no longer have to be a victim to a
future in which you are projecting negativity you no longer have to be a
victim to anything that anyone has ever said about you you no longer have to be
a victim to the things that you've said about yourself you no longer have to be
a victim to anything that through your expanded awareness of this dynamic and
magnificent to presence through the expanded awareness you get to make a
choice you get to make a choice to become more yourself an anchor on earth
in time and space the eternal qualities of love in a beauty and of well-being
what I'm saying to you you're not the constellation of changing personalities
that are forged into being based on circumstances in your life you're not
the mind and how you can check this out for me if you don't believe me you're
walking down the street minding your own business and then suddenly you hear your
mind talking without you it's having a full-on conversation and
you can just stop and listen for a while and it has an opinion it has a point of
view a perspective it has all manner of things going on and you're not even
participating who and what is watching the mind that's an indication that
you're not the mind that the mind is a set of programs that have been inherited
from the world from your biology from your parents from circumstances and
situations but who you are is a unique emanation of something so wonderful and
so magnificent that by means of you wants to come into expression wants to
reveal itself and these transcendent yet eminent qualities that we call love and
that we call beauty and that we call harmonizing prosperity and that we call
abundance and that we call living intelligence by means of you they want
to express themselves the whispering in your ear saying let me be free set me
free today allow me to come forward and express myself and you are here to in
some way make a choice to say yes to make a deeper commitment to a great
discovery that is within you that you may go on and live the life of your
dreams that you may live the life of a high intention of a great vision great
possibilities you may live a life not as a bystander but live a life as an
individual that's becoming aware that you are the way that the universe is
becoming conscious of itself and that all of the power that's birthing
galaxies and millions of miles of minute all of that power is within you right
now waiting for you to call into expression a life worth living so that
when it comes time for you to leave the domain of the body temple that you can
look back and say that your time on planet Earth
made a difference in the society in which you live at the time on planet
Earth made a difference in your neighborhood
made a difference your nation made a difference in your
family made a difference we're talking something has been planted in you by the
universal presence itself and that something is inviolate it's it's never
been hurt it's something that is always waiting for the right condition that it
may leap into expression and this is very very important because when the
proper conditions are met the potential of anything can rise and express itself
what do I mean by that you take a little seed and in this seed there is a
template there is an idea called the rosebush this particular seed can be
tossed about on the winds for a long period of time and then a number of
years later finally found itself into the fertile soil when it hits that soil
and he began to rain and the dirt was proper there was proper nutrition and
all the things necessary proper light and that seed began to grow into a
magnificent rosebush the idea being that within that seed was a perfect pattern
already placed there not in the future not in the past but in the nowness of
that moment in that instant there's a perfect pattern already there and when
the condition was met that seed became its full potential what I'm saying to
you is that there's something within you there seeds within you there are ideas
within you there's vision within you and when the condition is met it doesn't
matter who your parents were doesn't matter who your parents weren't it
doesn't matter what side of the track she came from it doesn't matter what the
economic system is doing doesn't matter if they left you if they lie to you if
they gossip about you it doesn't matter about anything that's
going on outside of you and you begin to think independent of that circumstance
and create the necessary condition within your own soul within your own
awareness within your own mind your potential will rise up and express
itself and you will become more yourself so all of these qualities are within you
now baby give him a little taste I am Miami I'm in the land of I am the
land of the eternal presence in the land of our witness in the land of our
interior tea in the land of our expanded awareness of who and what we are all of
our gifts all of our dreams are within us you can say to yourself as you're
observing the mine from time to time I. Am no longer subject to what my mind
believes I'm no longer subject to the rumors of my mind I'm no longer subject
to the superstition that my mind has and you can begin to free yourself from that
programming and allow the gift that is within you to not only set you free but
it sets itself free and pulls you along with it there are mindsets and our heart
sets for you to hold for you to practice for you to drill down into and you will
discover that if you do and you begin to create the condition these gifts will
emerge when that seed blossoms into the rosebush it does not
seek out any kind of therapy saying why was I in that pocket for so long why did
the wind toss me for so long who did this to me why why why me the moment the
condition was met in that instant the seed began to grow the moment the
condition is met the high potential within you will rise the gifts of
divinity that need to be stirred into activity those goals within you those
dreams within you the fabric of the universal presence that has forged
itself into such uniqueness as each and every individual here unrepeatable nam
Ana's are you all what does that mean a phenomena is something that comes and
goes it's transitory but a nomina is an idea held in the mind of the
universal one that is forever you are unique configuration of the all that is
waiting to come forth and express itself and you are going to create the
condition within yourself with a few guidelines that you're going to begin to
practice so that you're no longer thinking that your good is outside of
yourself you're no longer thinking that it's in the future you're no longer
thinking if someone else has it you're no longer thinking that if everything
outside would just come together I would be happy no you're going to expand
during a time of contraction you're going to have peace during the time of
turmoil you're going to evolve during a time of dissolution you're going to
allow yourself to glow and to grow and become more and never less than your
true self it was Ralph Waldo Emerson that coined the phrase endogenous as
opposed to indigenous something is indigenous that means that it flourishes
in a particular environment a palm tree is indigenous to Hawaii California you
put it in Antarctica you put it in the snow the palm tree is not gonna do too
good there it's indigenous to a much warmer climate but you are endogenous
and that means you create your environment from within yourself so it
doesn't matter where you are so in this instant your being a soulfully reminded
ed that everything that you could want hope for and desire is within you you
will be reminded that there are gifts of divinity that are within you you will be
reminded that there are ideas planted within your own heart
you're being reminded that there's so much power within the new and you no
longer be gonna become victimized by Aaron thought patterns that would have
you thinking that there's something out there that determines your destiny
whether it be biological imperatives or the society in which you live no as an
endogenous spiritual being uh you are going to determine your own destiny in
other words a fate is what life brings you
is what you do with it and you get to determine that as an endogenous nomina
held in the universal presence that is within you you get to determine this in
this moment you get to create the proper condition for the rising up and the
ultimate expression of the good that is within you as you become willing to
reflect and reveal a cosmic order harmony peace love wisdom joy well-being
all of these qualities are within you now do I have your ear as a comma on my favorite winter coat
this wind is blowing my mind see the key to the street not enough to eat Who am I
to be blind pretending not to see their me
I suppose disregard I'm broken they follow each other on the wind you
know till they got no place to go that's why I want if you wanna make a well change there's a movement of energy within you
there is something within you a gift that needs to be shared something that
needs to express through you and that negativity that impossibility thinking
comes up through your own awareness or moves through someone else saying you
know you can't do that it's impossible it's never been done before you're too
old you're too fat you do this you don't have enough education you have too much
education and you begin to just allow that to weigh you down and you end up
doing nothing creating the condition for apathy lethargy crating condition for
you to be in the box of individuals who are not sharing their gifts not living
who and what they are to be on this planet at this time in human history the
first thing you want to do in creating the condition for the growth development
and unfoldment of your soul is stop listening to the opinions of others stop
listening to negativity stop listening to what might go wrong stop listening to
what you might have to lose if you go for your dream stop listening to what
you have to give up in order to be who and what you really are when that's
something bigger than circumstance wants to express itself you do your best to
not listen to negativity and then along the way as you begin to take your step
as you begin to move in the direction of your vision you begin to move in the
direction of your high-minded goals you begin to move in the direction of that
evolutionary impulse that governs the entire universe that by means of you
wants to express itself you may encounter delays along the way and every
delay is not a denial it simply means that you're getting something that
you're gonna need to go forward this is what the delays mean why is that the
universe is friendly and it's for you life is for you life is progressive it
wants to express through you everything is working for your good so when there
is a delay you perhaps have to ask yourself what is it that's
to emerge right now in my life you may have to ask yourself what is it that I
need to become in order to move forward what gift do I need to activate you
might need to ask what potential is within me that is seeking to express
itself and it will begin to talk to you so your delay is not a denial it means
that you're getting something along the way that you're going to need in the
course of the unfoldment of your soul and the delivery of your gifts the bane
of the human experience is that we complain and bemoan about what we do not
have when we're sitting on so much beauty we're sitting on so much capacity
to share and give and we want to wake up every single day in gratitude for
everything that we already have and we want to begin to use what we have often
time people are running around trying to get something more in their life and
they're not utilizing what they have they're not praising what they have
they're not in gratitude for what they have they're constantly complaining
about what they don't have and so this universal law matches that vibration and
says you don't have it you'll never have it because that is what's coming out of
your mouth on a regular basis you want to use what you have
begin to take an inventory in your life of every good and perfect thing that you
already have every gift every capacity within you begin to look and see what
you have and begin to develop an awareness of what you have and then you
walk in this world and this conscious state of being about what you have and
then the universe matches that awareness of what you have and more is given into
you this is the law this is the law these are the conditions how often does
complaining which Bob Marley call prayers to the devil how often is
complaining and bemoaning your faith come out of your mouth a lot of you you
may have placeholders in negativity what do I mean by that if something you're
concerned about something you're worried about and it has you tied up in knots
and then you come to an event like this or you watch a program like this or
something inspires you and for a moment you're out of time in space you're
available to insight and revelation you're available to wisdom and guidance
and then your mind starts to say what was I worried about now and you go on a
hunt for it you have like a placeholder in negativity then and you just was like
oh oh there it is that's I'm worried about oh yeah I feel good now because I
can worry again you see and so many of you have developed the practice of
having a placeholder in negativity I'm inviting you to have a placeholder in
affirmation a placeholder with your aha moments a placeholder with your expanded
awareness so that when things start to get you down you come back and you
remember all that insight that revelation that guidance I remember what
that feels like and you begin to walk in that awareness talk from that awareness
having that having a consciousness that having awareness so that there is a
vibrational match from the universal flow that corresponds to the nature of
your song and that is now affirmative life giving life enhancing
in vibrational match with all of the power and presence and love that there
is are you following what I'm saying here Ricky baby give him a little
something right there today Sun is rising on me today Sun is rising
on me today let's feel better and everywhere he calls Sun is rising on me Sun is rising and that proverbial
sunshine is always shining on us it's always seeking to rise up and through us
that is the nature of reality that we are luminous beings with the capacity by
thanking independent of circumstances and co-creating with this universal flow
this universal presence we begin to engage this Sun that is always shining
always expressing the love that's always shining we begin as we're talking now to
become the right condition for the emergence of the possibilities that are
within us creating these mindsets and heart sets that I've just spoke about
that brings your destiny back into your own hands so that what fate has brought
you when it's been doled out as circumstances and situations do not
determine your destiny you are participating in your own unfolding
destiny and so we've we've come to an awareness here and we want to keep on
going a little deeper and it may mean that you might have to change your diet
you might have to come into the worry-free diet and the worryfree diet
is extremely important in other words as those who have been holding their place
in negativity and holding their place and worried you can sit there and worry
as long as you want and I'm really worried about this and I'm really
concerned about this and you'll notice the next day nothing has changed the
next day nothing has changed I'm gonna worry some more and the next day nothing
has changed you've begun to discover that worrying has no transformational
you worry is-is-is rehearsing emotionally rehearsing the very things
you don't want to happen you're actually rehearse it in your mind and what you're
saying I hope this doesn't happen I hope they said it happens hopefully
something take place I hope they don't do that oh my god please don't let this
happen and you're beginning to feel the pains of worry even if what you worry
about doesn't happen in the physical your body doesn't know the difference it
starts to spin out toxic chemicals it starts to block your creativity starts
to prematurely age you all because you're standing in the vibration in the
field of worry so we want you to go on a worry-free diet and the diet goes like
this first of all you must have you're not scible soup every day
I didn't say matzo ball I said knots of all what do I mean by that whenever you
hear negativity you say not so somebody's saying you know they're just
not enough jobs out there not so somebody is saying there's not enough
good men out there not so somebody's saying not enough good women not so
somebody's saying there's not enough opportunities for for the good that
wants to express in my life not so every single day you begin to start your day
with a little matzo ball soup and then you want to add a little Cheerios goes
like this someone's coming up to you and you gotta
really watch human beings human beings are interesting you ever watch human
beings you're interesting and they will come up to you from time to time and
they'll start gossiping about things and they'll start telling you the worst case
scenarios about stuff you ever know human beings like that it's hard outside
life is hard until you die Oh there's nothing good ever happens in
this world oh there's not enough good opportunities anywhere oh oh oh gotta go you're not being rude you're zeroing out
the negativity that's coming at you and then you got to dive deep into your
grateful fruit I'm talking about grateful fruit and that is every single
day of your life you develop the mindset and the heart set of waking up and going
on a hunt to look what you can be grateful for you go on a hunt to look
what you can be thankful for and how you can live in appreciation you begin to
live this gratitude is such a level that you begin to discover that there's more
and more and more and more things to be grateful for until your mind becomes an
avenue of awareness of gratitude it becomes your new heart set it becomes
your new point of reference and because of that gratitude and Thanksgiving a
more and more and more can begin to flow into your life there's a couple of
stages of gratitude there's the one stage in which you become grateful for
everything that you have it's a beautiful thing and then stage two you
become grateful for the negativity that's in your life whew that's a hard
one bad things happen you say thank you I'm so glad that this is taking place
why because you live in a progressive universe in other words every time the
earth rolls around on its axis and rolls around the Sun and the Sun
rolls on this axis and goes through its solar system and the solar system goes
through the galaxy and the gas of galaxies goes through the cosmos as each
of those heavenly bodies circles around there is progress in the universe the
vibration is elevated and if you are the very same person 365 days later
from this day you haven't stayed the same you've actually gone backwards
because everything else has progressed so when something negative happens and
you begin to be grateful for it you begin to mine the gifts and the
blessings from it it is coming into your life to help you
grow develop and unfold develop strengths and capacities and activate
potential within you that otherwise could not happen how many times if you
look back on your life something that you were going through and you just
wanted to be over he didn't want it to be happening you were into wishful
thinking I wish this wasn't happening I. Wish I wasn't where I was I wish I
wasn't who I was and and ultimately when you look back you realized that you are
who you are today because of that particular experience that that gift and
that talent emerged because of the seeming negativity now if you become
grateful and thankful in the midst of seeming negativity you join forces with
the progressive universe you learn your lessons faster you harvest your
blessings at an ever-increasing level and you spin into a greater awareness as
to the infinite possibilities within you there's gratitude for all the good that
you have there's gratitude for the seeming bad that's taking place and then
you break into another level of gratitude and that is gratitude for
simply being alive unattached to anything now this gratitude is very
important because this is the gratitude that aligns you with all of nature right
now all of nature is giving thanks and is grateful for existing period in other
words it's not saying I'm so glad that I.

Exist and I and I gotta have a car I'm
so glad that I exist I'm gonna be even more happy when I get and you fill in
the blank all of nature is in pure gratitude for simply existing and being
able to participate in the realm of the divine the unfolding good that is
everywhere when you begin to eat of the fruit of gratitude you will go through
the stage of learning to be grateful for everything that you have then you'll go
through the stage of learning to be grateful for even the seeming bad in
your life and then you'll break into the awareness of just being grateful period
and as you stand in that awareness of being grateful period there becomes an
opening within you that allows for the wisdom the
right into the direction that can come through you now because the static of
worry and doubt and fear has been diminished and now you can hear the
guidance of your soul the intuition the wisdom that is there beckoning you to
become more and never less than your true self the static is wiped off the
line through the eating of the fruit of gratitude and so you got you not to ball
soup what was the next one you got you Cheerios what was the next one
you got your grateful fruit and then you drill into your no TV dinner this is
very important unless you're watching public broadcast you're going to have to take some heavy
digestive enzymes in order to watch regular television so you're gonna have
to take your no TV dinner and instead begin to tell a vision on a regular
basis this is what you're going to have to do you're going to have to begin to
associate with like-minded individuals instead of bemoaning your fate and
inviting people over to a pity party you're going to invite people over to a
visioning party in which you're going to sit down and begin to ask questions such
as what's trying to emerge in my life what good is present that I presently
cannot see what gift is trying to happen in my life right now
what power is trying to emerge right now whatever it means sitting on that wants
to come forward you begin to tell a vision to the individuals around you and
you begin to share these visions rather than negativity and you will create a
vibration of a proper condition that will love with the vision that was
within all of us to emerge in such a way that people will not recognize you year
to year because you have broken from the paradigm of the world in which you are
living which is trying to turn you into a consumer rather than a creator you
will break free from that with your no TV dinner but telling a vision on a
regular basis and then you finish your dinner with a little receptivity you sip
on some receptivity it's so sweet is so wonderful it brings to your awareness
the idea that everything you can one hope for desire is already here it's
pulsating everywhere and you are here to be receptive to it to open yourself up
to it to make yourself available to it to say yes to it so you're living your
life in a sacred yes to life yes to beauty yes to joy yes to love yes to
abundance yes the prosperity yes the compassion yes to service and you begin
to be receptive because this life this beauty this joy that is everywhere that
by means of wants to express itself it has a little
difficulty if in fact there's no receptivity so you have to be receptive
I'm available I am NOT here to get I am here to let something happens the no
worried diet becomes your way of living someone's in need of a prayer today have
you done your part someone's in despair this day have you
prayed so many are trying to buy
and they need three I have EU spoken or to maintain did you
give your all in / air this world is indeed about what do you say did you ask so many OC. Just listen to your spirit it's 10:00 then as we begin to practice the no
worry diet as we begin to practice deep and profound opening ourselves up to
grander vision and to begin to open ourselves up to using what we have we
begin to open our ourselves up to understanding that every delay is not a
denial this is something seeking to grow and as we begin to open ourselves up
with speaking the word with authorities begin to open ourselves up on a regular
basis we become oriented differently becomes an expanded awareness happens
and now we've gone from orientation to this orientation to reorientation and in
that period from orientation this orientation it doesn't necessarily feel
good all the time it's kind of confusing it's kind of Oh what's going on before I
started all these spiritual practices I. Was kind of happy at least I pretended I
was I could fake it I could go to happy hour and pretend I
was happy but now I don't know what's going on I feel confused it's dark
something's something's not working but is in that state of dissolution that
there's an evolution taking place the emergence of the gifts within you are
coming forward because you're creating the right condition and in that state
there is a reorientation and then change takes place you begin to see yourself as
you really are nothing wrong with you nothing missing everything working
together for your good you begin to feel this in a way that you've never felt it
before and you begin to understand that the good that you're seeking is the good
that you're seeking to give not get you begin to see that everything you want to
hope for and desire is within you and that you are here to set it free you're
here to release it you're here to allow it you're here to to let it not get it
how do we have these mindsets and these heart sets that I've just talked about
and it comes down to asking empowering questions the universe responds to the
questions that you ask and oftentimes individuals ask disempowering questions
they will ask why me Oh Lord why me who's to blame
what's wrong so we have to ask some empowering questions and here's why
every problem that you have in life is a question that's trying to ask itself and
every question is an answer trying to reveal itself and every answer is an
action trying to express itself and every action is a way of life trying to
be born let me break that down for you again a problem in your life stands for
emblem it really means emblem it's emblematic of a set of beliefs
perceptions and points of view that we're holding on to so without pictures
as a problem it's really an emblem of issues within our own awareness
conditions that are preventing the expression of our good it's inviting us
to ask a question for every problem there's a question trying to be asked
for every answer there's an action trying to be expressed and for every
action there is a way of life trying to be born so the universe is inviting you
to ask a question matter of fact it's daring you to ask a question to ask a
proper question because if you do your life will change and the comfort zones
that you are living in and the coping mechanisms that you have become used to
they will shatter they will fall apart it will be a little uncomfortable
some people have become used to lack and limitation they're used to this ease in
this harmer they're used to it and they develop the whole way of life to
maintain that particular way of being but if you begin to ask the right
question the answers will come the actions will come the way of life will
be born and you will not know yourself anymore you won't be able to remember
who that person was and in that space you begin to understand the law and that
you only get to keep what you give away and that as you are allowing the love
the peace the joy the wisdom and the harmony to express through you as you
allow your vision state to speak itself into expression the world rolls up at
your feet and becomes whatever is necessary for the next step of your
evolution and you will grow from lack and limitation to abundance and health
and prosperity and you begin to discover that all of it is right here and right
now it is not in the past it is not in the future
Rikki BV and I were in New York City we were at the United Nations and I had the
opportunity to speak at a special forum there and after the speaking we had to
catch a plane because we had an engagement the next day and so as we
were coming out of the United Nations and we were getting into this van take
us to the airport I became aware that I. Had left my mobile phone inside the
assembly hall and I said Ricky I got to go back and she says no we might miss
our plane I said no I got I need my phone I got all the information I got
all my phone numbers I need it and she said okay so I go through security and
I'm running down the hallway and when the security guards see me I walk really
cool and then I get to the assembly hall and open the door and there's another
assembly already in there and so I walk in like I belong there just kind of
nodded people hey how you doing and there's a woman up there speaking and I
know my phone is right behind her I got to catch a plane and then she says
something profound and everybody's clapping and in that break of energy I
go up on stage I get the phone and I go out and I run down the hallway again I
stopped when I see security I get into the van and we say ok on to JFK Airport
we get about a mile away from JFK and I.

Look at the itinerary we're supposed to
be at LaGuardia Airport oh no we're supposed to be in the
Guardia Airport we have to turn around and the driver says you said JFK I said
I know but we got to turn around we might be able to make this flight so he
turns around he's driving under the speed limit I said you're going too slow
that's the present he said you said JFK. That's the past and we said we got to
get from the guardian' that's the future so we kept bouncing back and forth
between the past the present in the future you're going too slow that's the
present you said JFK that's the past we got to get to LaGuardia that's the
future so we kept going back and forth past present future past present future
and then every now and then Ricky and I. Would stop and take a deep breath all
this well we step into the now no issues everything is fine we're in the
narrowness of this moment so we got out of the car in the nowness of this moment
everything good we go up to the counter with our bags and the guy says to us
you're at the wrong terminal he said what are you talking about it says
United there he says yes but operated by US airlines
it's another terminal I said can we walk to it says no you guys taking cab get in
the cab get to the next terminal we check in we go through security we get
to the gate and the flight was postponed an hour so we walked around and took everybody's
hand apologizing for stopping time we're so sorry we did this but but here's the
issue here's the point there are people who live in the past
immature pride or shame or people who live in the future
fear or ambition you see ambition MB. Like a person as ambidextrous they're
moving in two directions at the same time they're moving in the direction of
their dream but they're afraid they're not going to get there
ambitious and the present present is the field of your imagination and you can
have embarrassment or you can have vanity you can have a lot of things but
it can be an opening into the now the now is totally different than the
present the present is your imagination but the now is no time no space all here
now all of the qualities all of the gifts are right here and right now and
then you discover that everything is working together for your good now
here's the caveat in this here's a little small print that right now you've
been oriented by the society in which you live and somewhere along the line
you might even think that you are a consumer of some kind and as I sometimes
saying I just imagine that that word and let it amplify itself in your mind and
you begin to see that a consumer is you know
I'm a consumer I have come to this planet to consume and to get and to
become bigger you are not a consumer you are a creator you are here to co-create
with the fundamental harmony of the universe and allow it to flow through
you like never before three questions you want to ask yourself on a regular
basis you want to ask how can I grow what can I give and what can I celebrate
those are three questions you want to live with because you are evolving
unique being you want to ask every day how can I grow so at the end of that day
you're not the same person that got out of bed you've had an insight you've had
a revelation you've practiced something new you've tried something new so that
you have become more yourself how can I.

Grow today I don't want to be the same
person 365 days from today I want to evolve I want to become more myself I
want to express myself better how can I. Give you ask that question the universe
fills your hands with more than you can handle and it keeps on filling it
because you have asked how can I be a giver how can I share as I said earlier
all of nature is in celebration for simply being simply being in existence
it's celebrating constantly human beings have a tendency to postpone their
celebrations they wait for an anniversary to wait for a birthday they
wait for a raise they wait for something and then now it's time to celebrate when
you begin to ask that question what can I celebrate you're lifting your octave
and what happens is you keep ringing into your life experience you keep
creating you keep manifesting more and more and more things to celebrate how
can I grow how can I give and what can I. Celebrate these are heart sets and mind
sets for you to discover that the answer is
you to the question of more prosperity more health right relationships
abundance expansion during times of contraction the answer is you not
outside of you the answer is you not someone else the answer is you again thank you for watching this video my
